This was really very disappointing. The actual book is very good and I really wish I had now purchased that rather than the e-edition. The maps on my Fire HD6 were the wrong way round and virtually unreadable. However my main grouse is the index. Ideally of course, you would locate the name of a place in the index, tap on it and be magically transported to the relevant page. Alas the index is just a collection of names and places, missing out the rather important page number! I can understand not having the e-book page, but even having the page number of the print edition would have helped in finding the sometimes fascinating and always interesting information of a place or person. Without the index working, it became a very frustrating accompaniment to my trip to Missouri. Insightful writing from Patti DeLano, but Amazon did I poor job in transferring a travel guide book to an e-format.I'll keep my 3 stars as it is an interesting book but not recommended to anyone as a guide book in this format.
This is the second edition that I've purchased. I belong to a motorcycle organzation and we take rides on th weekends. This book has provided us with some great destinations. I can't wait for the next edition to come out.
These books are a great storehouse of information that make Missouri adventuring priceless memories. I love Missouri due to all the helpful places suggested to explore all over the " Show Me State " , well worth the read !!!
I really enjoyed the book. I've lived in southwest MO all of my life and traveled throughout most of the state. This book opened my eyes to many new stops on our frequent road trips.

I had the privilege of co-authoring the first few editions of this book, and Patti's brought it up to date in delightful, inviting ways! I need a copy of each new edition to see what I've missed, and I STILL follow those byways to the off-the-beaten-path treasures the state has to offer.You ROCK, Patti!
Very good book for someone who likes to go to places a person might not find in the traditional ways when travelling. Would buy again.
