Janice Maynard is one of my favourite authors and I just love her writing style so she is one of a few Harlequin Desire authors I read.Hot Texas Nights is the first book in the Texas Cattleman's Club set in Houston and it was a great start to the series!The plot was very interesting, the main focus was on Aria and Ethan relationship but we got hints about future books in the series that really made me read them all.Aria and Ethan know one another for many years but they were only friends.Ethan is not looking for a relationship, he doesn't want to get married and since he knows Aria is looking for a long term relationship he made sure they will only be friendsBut one night of passion will change everything between them..As much as Ethan is trying to forget his hot night with Aria he can't get her out of his head, so when he has the chance to help Aria by paying her father's debt and acting as her fake fiance he jumps head first and prevent her father from forcing her to marry someone she doesn't care for at allAria always had deeper feelings for Ethan but she hide them for many years but now when they are acting as a loving couple it's getting harder and harder to hide her true feelings.I really enjoyed reading about Aria and Ethan.Aria is a strong, independent woman and she is not afraid to speak her mind and the chemistry between her and Ethan was very strong but he is so afraid to act like his dad so he keeps pushing Aria away.I can't wait to discover the secrets of some of the secondary characters like Ryder Currin, Sterling Perry and to find out who the villain behind it all is.

With the first book in the new Texas Cattleman's Club: Houston spin-off series, Janice Mayard does a great job of delivering an exciting happily ever after for the current couple as well as setting the stage for intrigue and mystery to be revealed throughout the series. Detailed characters, rich settings and an emotionally charged story line brought a really enjoyable read to life!She's had a thing for him for years but commitment-shy Ethan Barringer has always let it be known that marriage and family isn't for him. He's got a past that tainted him, but he's only too happy to burn up the sheets with Aria if she's so inclined!Aria Jensen happens to run into Ethan on a night when they could both use a little companionship, so why not throw caution to the wind and live a little with her old friend. The smallest concession leads to her dreaming of more, no matter what he says about the future ... especially when he steps in to play her fake fiance to stop her father from pressuring her to marry to get him out of a bind.

Aria is torn between protecting the family and their business or lose everything? She chooses marriage to a man she does not like. When Ethan finds out he comes to the rescue he needs Aria to act as a fake fiancé for him. Great watching this fake relationship develop! I also liked how different characters are introduced and you are left guessing who’s story will come next! Of course we are left with a mystery troublemaker!
